H. Richard Hall

Rev. H. Richard Hall was born in Canton, North Carolina, and preached the Gospel for more than 60 years. After high school, he attended the Church of God of Prophecy Bible Training School and was ordained at the age of 24. In the 1940s, he became a State Overseer with the Church of God of Prophecy in Colorado, Utah and Western Texas. Upon moving to Cleveland in 1956, he founded the United Christian Church and Ministerial Association, and to this date has licensed and ordained over 30,000 ministers worldwide. The annual Camp Meeting – Convention in Cleveland has been a well-attended event in the city for many years. Brother Hall (as he preferred to be called) remained president of UCCMA until his death. He founded the United Christian Bible Institute and the Shield of Faith quarterly periodical. He authored two hardback books: Chosen, Elected and Ordained and Spoken Word: The Sign-Gift Ministry. He was a frequent radio and television personality. He was the featured evangelist in the Raise the Dead, an award-winning documentary. He was also featured in Patsy Sims’ book, Can Somebody Shout, “Amen?” and David Edwin Harrell’s historical account of the Healing Movement, All Things Are Possible. Other television appearances included “Good Morning America” and a program titled “Ancient Prophecies.”

A MINISTRY WAS BORN…A WORK ORDAINED

“And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre. He was a widow’s son of the tribe of Naphtali…..He was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass….And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work” (1 Kings 7:13-14).

When Jesus came, He set in order, and gave instructions to build another temple unto the Most High God. Just as God designed and supervised the building of the Temple of Solomon; so did He set in order the building of the temple of the Holy Ghost. First, through the Apostle Paul, He revealed the location of the Temple. Second, “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which ye have of God. And ye are not your own?” (1 Cor. 6:19). “But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that” (7:7). Third, “And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God…that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine…” (Eph. 4:11-14).

We believed that Rev. H. Richard Hall was a man likened unto Hiram, whom the King of Glory has called in, and assigned to do a specific work on the Holy Ghost Temple. We found him to be a man likened unto Naphtali (he giveth goodly words). Through the direction of the Lord and yielding of himself, the ministry through Brother Hall has touched thousands of lives. Many lives were changed and established in their calling, through this ministry.

Brother Hall preached his first sermon as a very young man. Standing barefooted, in a distinguished preacher’s pulpit, in the state of North Carolina; he preached his first message: “How shall ye escape, if ye neglect so great a salvation?” This drew sinners to an altar of repentance. A Ministry was birthed, a son stepped forth, to become a servant unto all mankind.

Rev. H. Richard Hall was the author of ten widely publicized booklets which support the mainline Pentecostal perspective that speaking in tongues is a sign of being baptized with the Holy Ghost. His two latest books Chosen, Elected, and Ordained and The Spoken Word give revelation knowledge. The H. Richard Hall television ministry is now on many stations weekly. Brother Hall preached weekly, Tuesday through Saturday night in different churches, auditoriums, tents, etc. United Christian Ministerial Association, established in 1956, by Founder and then-President Rev. H. Richard Hall, has and still is touching many parts of the world, through its different outreaches. This Association is an interracial, interchurch organization.

The Ministerial Department: Consists of over 30,000 licensed and ordained ministers worldwide; and 150, active subordinate churches. The Ministerial Association’s purpose is: to reach out and help all people, all races, and all churches. It was founded to help and assist ministers who have a call from God to, preach the Gospel without fear or favoritism. It was established for men and women who desire to work together in unity for the cause of the gospel. We choose to win the lost at any cost and to know nothing save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

The United Christian Church & Ministerial Association does license and ordain ministers worldwide. We recognize the calling of God upon men and women. Ministers of many nations are proclaiming the gospel worldwide, who are ordained through this Association. We work in harmony with our fellow men and choose to join ranks with the Anointed of the Lord. We do not seek titles, ranks, or positions but our eyes are on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith.
